Subject:Any ideas on this figurine?

This was in an estate along with several nice old Chinese pieces. It is approximately 7.5 inches tall. The dirt leads me to believe that it's some kind of tourist ware, but on the other hand it's VERY difficult to remove. I'm not even sure that this is Asian. Any ideas on what it is, where it came from or possible age?

This is modern, and it is not the way an antique looks like. Check Jade books, or better, try to visit a good museum

This figure is ceramic, not jade.

Concurrent with posting on Asianart.com I submitted photos to a curator of an Asian ceramic museum. He has referred me to page 81, "A Dictionary of Chinese Ceramics", Wang Qingzheng (2002) for photos of similar objects. I've requested the book via interlibrary loan, awaiting receipt.
