Subject:Authenticity of a piece
Posted By: Gabriella Lemmers Mon, Nov 16, 2020 IP: 219.75.29.32

I would like to know what do I have in terms of authenticity, period...
I was told it's a jade disc framed.
It has 39cm of diameter and would live to find out more about it.
I have more pictures but cannot download here.

To rectify the size of the disc is 42cm.

sorry to say that this is a tourist item, made large to that that a proud tourist can easily find it. I would say it is app. up to 50 years old. A scratch test will tell you if it is indeed a low grade Jade or Serpentine.

Ernest, thank you for your reply.
I searched a little and I found a similar piece where someone says differently.
I bought from someone that bought in an antique shop here in Singapore.
Take a look on this search:
https://lapada.org/art-and-antiques/a-chinese-hard-stone-archaic-style-carved-sculpture-relief-ornament/

And apart from this site there are others with the same piece.

Yes, it says Archaic style. Do you understand the meaning of that?
Ernest
