I have this lovely scroll, it is puzzling me as it is on material and I wonder how this is done? I assume it's quite new, and also what is this based on ? Who is the artist of the original painting? Thanks for any help. I have posted a pic of the back of the scroll too.

This is a copy of a painting called 'Red Lotus", done in 1961 by Pan TianShou (1897 - 1971.

Despite being acclaimed as a teacher, painter, calligrapher and sealist, he was cruelly persecuted when the Gang of Four controlled the country. He died in a hospital in HangZhou of September 5, 1971.
