Dear Nagy, thanks again for your help. The search on the internet starting from the characters 伊藤 博 印, gives me as a result images and Chinese sites that refer to Ito Hirobumi. Could it be a seal of the famous politician written in Chinese fonts? I read that he had Yamada Kanzan carved his seals.

Best regards,
Andrea

The name of the famous politician reads;
伊藤博文 - Itō Hirobumi
The name of your artist reads,
伊藤博  - Itō Hiroshi
Hirobumi and Hiroshi are different given names.
The character 印 "in = seal of.." behind the name of your artist means "Seal of Itō Hiroshi" (伊藤博印)
The use of these search engines without knowing the Chinese and Japanese languages could result in big misunderstandings.

With regards,
I.Nagy

Hi Nagy, you are definitely right, even about the use of search engines. Many thanks again,
Andrea
