My friend's just been left these and asked me about them. I can't help him I'm afraid, other than in my opinion they are Chinese, simply beautiful and very, very well painted.
He's hoping to know something about the artists (I assume they're by a different artist?) and when they date to.

Hoping someone can help him?

The tiles are the seasons of "Spring" ("Chun"/春/right) and "Summer" ("Xia"/夏/left), probably from a set that once contained paintings of flowers associated with fall and winter. The painting style is late 20th century, though the frames look to be somewhat older. I've never bought contemporary art like this, so defer to others regarding potential value beyond a few hundred dollars in the decorative market.
