Subject:Blue and white ginger jar
Posted By: Elizabeth Lorenz Sun, Jan 09, 2022 IP: 50.53.173.46

Hi!
My grandma gave me this jar in 2010. She purchased it from an auction. I would like to know a little more about it. I believe it has the mark signifying it was made at a later date in honor of a certain period. I hope I’m phrasing that right.
Thank you so much!

This appears to be a transfer-ware vase of the contemporary period with a decal-applied, four-character apocryphal mark of 'Made during the Qianlong Reign', which ended more than two and a quarter centuries ago. It's of a type often found in import stores such as Pier 1.

Best regards,

Bill H.
