Subject:Japanese Damascene Cigarette Case

Good Morning Everyone,
I hope everyone is enjoying their Saturday. We were very fortunate to find a Meiji period sterling silver Japanese damascene cigarette case in the recent past. On the base of the case, it appears to be signed, either by the artist or maybe by the individual who originally owned it. Can anyone please assist in interpreting the characters on this awesome piece of art? My thanks in advance and as always, stay safe and healthy!
