Subject:China pottery or european faience?
Posted By: Luciano Fri, Mar 25, 2022 IP: 93.65.150.107

Hello,
I have found the vase you see in the attached pictures: in my opinion, it had been made at the beginning of the XXth century by an european faience factory, wishing to imitate an old China pottery. In fact, the mark at the bottom seems a chinese writing but it is not. Please, what do you think about it?
Thanks a lot and best regards,
Luciano

Looks like salt glazed stoneware, which is not traditional to Asia.

Hello Robert,
Thank you for your observation.
I am also quite sure this is a north european pottery... But I would like to know who attempted to propose a Chinese mark... Which was the factory...
Anyway, I add two other pictures.
Regards,
Luciano
