Subject:Help Identity Bronze Vase Seal Mark

Hi,

I have this 24cm or 9.5" tall fine quality heavy bronze Japanese vase. Could someone please help with a translation of the character mark to the base. I think the vase is either late 19th or early 20th century.
Also, do you think the mixed metal flying cranes decoration is silver and gold plus a black colour for the tail feathers.
Any help much appreciated.
