高木之印 Seal of Takagi
Takagi Kosen 高木古泉 1878-1963
was born in 1878 in Kikuchi District, Kumamoto Prefecture. His name is Sadao. After graduating from Kumamoto Prefectural Normal School, he enrolled in Tokyo Fine Arts School but dropped out. He passed the drawing examination of the Ministry of Education, and after teaching at the former junior high school and girls' high school, he resigned and studied under Fukuda Heihachiro and Katayama Nanpu. He exhibited at the Inten, Hekireki, and Meirō exhibitions, and became known as a master of carp.
