Subject:Help with identifying an artist

I need help with identifying this artist. The artwork was acquired from an area in Palto Alto,CA. I acquired it because it reminded me of an artist with a similar style of abstract painting, but I cannot remember the name of the artist. Im not sure but the words look something like hong nian, hong-nian. If anyone can make decipher the name or possibly identify the name of the artist based on the style it
