Subject:Identification of characters in paintings request

I wonder if anyone would be kind enough to identify the characters in the below two paintings (Painting-1 & Painting-2) and what the paintings (scene) depicts please?

And are they Nepali or Indian (they were collected in Kathmandu, Nepal, in the early 70's)?

And, any idea of age?

Any help much appreciated!!
