Subject:Bamboo Sumi Painting

Assistance would be greatly appreciated in identifying the artist. This large painting was purchased over 15 years ago but due to its size has never been displayed in our home. The painting, not including the mounting measures approximately 72” by 32”. Help in translating would be most appreciated. Thank you. Ed

七十四迂叟　柳溪寫
Painted by the 74 years old pedantic old man Ryūkei
Upper seal,
岸浪静司　Kishinami Seiji
Lower seal,
号柳溪　　Sobriquet Ryūkei

Kishinami Seiji 岸浪静司　a.k.a. Kishinami Ryūkei 岸浪柳溪　1855-1935
Born in Tōkyō. His name was Seiji. He studied under Tazaki Sōun. He was a member of the Japan Art Academy Association and a member judge for the Japan Nanshū Painting Association, and was known as a master of Nanshū painting.
