Subject:Chinese Seal
Posted By: Dick Cichano Tue, Aug 06, 2024 IP: 24.59.125.36 I have a very old chess set and each piece has a seal on the bottom. I have attached a picture. Does anyone know what it means? |

Posted By: rat Fri, Aug 09, 2024 It is upside down in the photo and reads 大清乾隆, referring to the Qianlong emperor, who ruled during the 18th century. You chess set does not date from that time, however; given the relative precision with which it has been cut, it may be a few decades old. |
