Subject:Help Translation Inscription, Maker Origin Tiny Handpainted Teapot
Posted By: Elke Sun, Nov 17, 2024 IP: 2.241.85.68

Hello experts and dear friends of asian arts and crafts,

I wonder if anybody could help me with the readings/mark on this tiny teapot. It is rather small, guess it should be rather vintage than antique, e.g. 1950-60th?
What does the inscription on the bottom an the mark read. -is it an makers or producers hallmark? Any ideas towards maker/origin and age.

Thank you for any insights and help.

Friendly greetings from Germany,

Elke

Chinese, the mark on the base refers to its place of manufacture: Jingdezhen. The red encircled mark on the body refers to good luck/auspiciousness. Not sure of date, may be decades more recent than your suggestion

Thanks very much, Rat!
So maybe the teapot is more likely somewhat newer and made in Jingdhezen. Thank you for your translation and advice.

Greetings from Germany, Elke
