Subject:Japanese plate 'makers mark' question
Posted By: Kay Dee Sun, Dec 08, 2024 IP: 85.76.143.151

Wondering if this 'makers mark' on the bottom of a Japanese porcelain plate may distinguish the company that made it, approximately when it was made, and what the Japanese writing states?

Mark measures 'about' 2cm / 1 inch across.

Thanks for any help!

This is a japanese porcelaine plate from which reads: 寿祝 (Kotobuki Iwai) conveys a meaning related to celebration, good fortune, and longevity, often used in auspicious contexts like ceramics made for special occasions.
