Subject:SE Asian Stoneware Jar

Greenish to yellowish stoneware jar decorated with deer designs around the neck.

Minor chipped and repaired on the mouth rim.

Height : 15 inches
Diameter : 16 inches

Any comments with probable date of this jar are most appreciated.

Hi Lee.

Hey after you emailed me I came over to take a look at your piece. Remember that I am not any sort of an expert! But just by looking at it, it appears to be at least somewhat old.... Are there any marks at all on it? And would you please try to post a picture looking down inside the piece from the top?

No promises, but willing to have some fun with it if your willing.

If nothing else I have aquired several links while looking for information on my Shiwan piece that may be of some help.

I am of the opinion that this jar is of Burmese and NOT Chinese origin. Probably from circa 13th or 16th century?

Any comments are most appreciated.
