Subject:Collecting Snuff Bottles

I am more than just interested in starting to collect snuff bottles.
I have a vouple of questions to whomever is willing to listen.
1. I see a huge selection of them on E-Bay, and watch them go for as little as one dollar. Absolutely beautifull ones! Some simply pass right on through without even one single bid.
What am I missing? So many of them appear to be worth considerably more than a dollar and some shipping costs?
2. Most that I see on E-Bay appear to be crafted out of precious materials. Ivory, Jade, etc.,
Are these not genuine?
3. If there are collectors on this forum, could you please provide me with infromation regarding books, websites, and or forums specific to snuff bottles.
Any advice and or information would be greatly appreciated!
