Subject:finding info on a 70 s painting from Borneo

I have in my posession this wonderful piece of work 6 ft x 3 ft. This was purchased around early 70's by my father in law Dr. Govindan Nair from somewhere near Borneo Sarawak Or Kuching.
I would like to have some information about this artist. Could you help me to identify the artist.
I am sending 2 images one of which is the signature on the painting. This is oil on canvas
