Subject:teakwood furniture
Posted By: anita funsch Sat, Feb 17, 2007 IP: 68.220.81.153 My siblings and I inherited some furniture from our parents made by the H. Jhangimal and brothers. Does anyone know anything about this company? The tag in my piece has Hong Kong as the place of origin. It also has another tag in in it that says Trust in Almighty HJB |

Posted By: Jim L Sun, Feb 18, 2007 Google tells me it is a very common name among Indian merchants, but I find nothing on the name as a furniture manufacturer. How old is this furniture? |

Posted By: anita funsch Mon, Feb 19, 2007 My parents bought it in the late 1950's in Panama City Panama when my father was stationed in Bolivia. I did a google search but nothing came up under the name. The furniture has carvings on the top front and sides. My sister said her in laws have a piece that has Zee on it. |

Posted By: Kim Fri, Nov 25, 2016 We have a drop front secretary desk and matching chair from this company! I do not see anything online at all. Similar to your parents, my great-grandmother also bought it on travel through the Panama canal. The carvings are oriental. This piece is beautiful and distinctive and a family favorite, but no idea if there is any significant value other than sentiment. |
