Posted By: Jim Fri, Feb 23, 2007 IP: 207.255.196.202

Hello,
Can someone tell me if this is an antique or approximate age? I was told it was Qing Dynasty, 1859-1899.It is in perfect condition, approx. 5 1/4" high, 6" wide, 3 carved dragon heads with 5 loose carved rings. Can you also give me an approx. value? Thank you. Jim

Jim, I am sorry to give you the bad news. This carvings is made from Serpentine, and in this case it is Bowenite ( the hardest known Serpentine). It was made within the last 20 years.
Ernest
