Subject:identifying oriental statues
Posted By: xavier piper Tue, Mar 06, 2007 IP: 66.84.112.2

Im looking for any information that i can get about these statues. I know nothing about them. The only markings are on the bottom, each one has a single, less than a 1/4 inch square molded in the material with what appears to be a single oriental letter also molded inside of this square. 2 of them have what appear to be an inked letter next to the square. any help or quidence as to where i do further research on the value and history of these items would be apprecited.

The man in the middle is Guan Yu (Lord Guan), a Chinese historical figure from the Three kingdom period.

The guy on the left is Zhou Cang. He holds Lord Guan's Halberd for him. I forgot the other guy's name. He is also an assistant, holding a seal for Guan. You can find more info and products about Guan Yu at Galleria Pangea's website.
