Hi anybody knows this shop/museum called Cultural Museum Gallery based in hong kong that specialise in ancient jades.Any opinion?Thank you.

If it is like many "museums" in China, which SELL their wares...stay clear !! Do they advertise their jades with photos...can you put those in the forum...that would help !

Thanks. I got this item more for it's decorative art rather than it's antiquity value.I think this piece is modern n probably less than 5 years old? Likely serpentine?? BTW what's this item used for??URN??

The shop/museum called Cultural Museum Gallery, I do not know, but there is a small counter selling jade artefacts in the book shop of HK cultural museum of art. the price is very high and nobody can quarantee the authenticity. Buying at your own risk.

That is not jade, I mean both nephrite and jadite. It is acid treated, dyed and stained serpentine(cheaper and softer stone, worth nothing at all), just like those tourist souveniors, this piece does not indicate any work of any period of Chinese History.

Modern, colour treated, either soapstone, or a soft serpentine.
