I have as listed above I would like
to send a picture of the vase+the
picture of the markings on bottom/
I understand the markings don;t
always mean that was the period it
was made.I have talked to (2) ladys
that are chinese/ one did call her
father in china and told her this
was very old (268 years old)possible?
If this is true I would like to
think someone would be intersted?

Paul,

Mark reading 'Great Qing Qianlong Reign Made' is most common one on porcelain made last 150 years. Only having that mark not interest collector much.

Some with false mark well made, some not. If very good quality but false mark still have some value but much much less than true made that period imperial quality.

You can post photos here if want opinions experienced persons. Should be least 72 dots pr inch, 600 pixels wide, object fills picture. Best have side view whole vase, view mark plus footrim, close of decoration, well lit well focus.

Or can have appraised reputable auction house nearest you, in Chicago there are two.

Good luck,
Cal

There are literraly millions fakes and reproductions being made these days in China, with all sorts of marks. So the mark by itself is meaningless. Get a good book on Chinese porcelain from your local library, and you should be able to easily identify the mark and more specific "period" of the "dynasty". But remember that that will not tell you much about how old teh piece actually is.
