Subject:Fine Antique Indonesian batiks
Posted By: alvin Fri, May 18, 2007 IP: 222.164.68.182

I recently received one lot of very fine Indonesian textile batiks. Most of them are signed pieces, late 19th/early 20th century and command international pricing. Would anyone know where is the best place to list them for sale?

My Grand pa and Grand ma were batik dealers.
As young child, on my vacation I travel with them from town to town. Every town has their own distinct design and colors. In the past, batik was done by the Chinese with Indonesian workers.
I probably able to help you identify where they coming from.

I use to sell vintage Kebaya in 1976s in Duesseldorf, Germany. But today they are hard to come by, the old generation already die down. people didn't wear it any more.

Dear Alvin,
Do you still have the batiks? Whose works are they?
You can email me the pictures and we can provide you with some direction.
All the best,

--Amir
