We need better photos !! The design is modern, and there is a high possibility that this material is not jade.

Not Tang, this open work floral design incense burner with lose rings is popular in 18th Century (Qing Dynasty).

According to the picture, it can be made of either white nephrite or chalcedony.

This piece is modern with sharp and fast cuts from high speed saw, Qing art on valuable white jade is much more delicate with care, and chalcedony is too hard to be carved like that in ancient China.

For your consideration.

Good eyes, Ernest and Anita!

I don't think it is jade. Neither jadeite nor nephrite. The luster is just too dull. Hardness of the piece may be high, however specific gravity will be low (below 2.900).

If I am wrong and it is made of nephrite and it is big, then it is worth something. I don't think so though. Too modern looking.

Bill
