Subject:Bronze Hu (?) - your opinion please

I recently purchased an estate, and this piece was part of it. It was listed as 'Lead Vase' in the inventory, and clearly wasn't considered a valuable piece. I'm looking for opinions of whether this piece could be authentic (Zhou? Shang?) or not and if I should bother getting it appraised.

I greatly appreciate your help!

The piece appears to be a modern production.
The malachite( green patches ) seems somewhat contrived as evidenced by the seperated patches.
The quality of the piece ( background relief, decoration, etc... ) does not appear to match up with Shang or Zhou pieces.
