I would like to know who is the maker of this vase and is it Chinese, Japanese etc?? I know nothing about this piece and would like to know more about it.

Hello Christine

Your vase is Japanese and it is "Satsuma" (a kind of earthenware). I can't see it very well on your pictures but the surface should be crackled. The mark on the bottom is not the name of the maker but just says "Satsuma". I guess your vase is of the showa periode.
