Subject:painting and calligraphy question

HI: I know this painting looks like the work of a child, but the subject, (a toy ox pulling a wagon, on a string), is so unusual that it caught my attention. I have noticed that Asian paintings usually have many characters, or more than would be required for just the artist's signature. Am I right to think that the extra characters are the title? Western art is usually titled, but almost never is the title included on the painting. And, for example, what do the characters in my painting represent? The artist's name, and title of the work? If so, which is which? The characters are both red and black. Is this standard in most Asian paintings?
