Best bet is to take it to Sothebys or christies for authentication, if authentic it can worth and where between 10 thousand to a 100 thousand us dollars. There may be legal requirement to export or import such items. Good luck. |

Posted By: wingchuntaiji Tue, Feb 26, 2008 It is best not to mess around with the luster. Mineral oil may damage the organice texture of the horn. Try to use something like a compressed air can for photography to blow the dust or a hand-held mini vacum with a hairy tip for computer to suck up the dust. A slightly wet all-cotton towel may be okay to wipe clean the flat surfaces(squeeze the towel real dry). Make sure don't make the item wet because it may cause fractures in the future. |
