kOOii presents PostcART: an art sale exhibition with a private viewing from 5 pm to 7 pm on Sunday March 16, 2008 at the kOOii gallery, 480 Lake Road, Hokandara(Batteramulla).
The exhibition showcases various postcard size artworks comprising a range of media� painting , drawing, and photography�and covers diverse age groups, identities, experiences, and styles that will show the breadth and depth of contemporary Sri Lankan art.
Works by 20 artists are included.
kOOii is an autonomous Sri Lanka based foundation specializing in contemporary art, with a focus on works by artists from Asia. Founded in 2007 our goal is to act as an intermediary between Sri Lankan artists and a global audience. This way kOOii hopes to enable local artists to make a decent living out of their chosen profession and get greater exposure through our network. Despite the non-profit philosophy, we make sure to distill the global from the local. This means no traditional paintings, but true contemporary art (including photography) by upcoming as well as established visual artists.
