Posted By: Marc Kahn Fri, Mar 14, 2008 That print was designed by Ito Takashi, originally published by Watanabe in 1929. The title is "Yasaka after Snow, Kyoto". Your copy appears to have suffered from light exposure and perhaps an unfriendly mounting over the years. Click on the link below for a scan of a print in pristine condition. |

Posted By: Guy Pepermans Fri, Mar 14, 2008 This is a woodblock print titled "Yasaka Shrine After Snowfall, Kyoto" by the Japanese 'Shin hanga' artist Takashi Ito (1894-1982) originally published in 1929 but republished during the 1940s and 50s. Your print is probably one of these later reissues. |
