Subject:Asian Vase - Help w/Identification, age, etc.
Posted By: Tina Sun, May 18, 2008 IP: 24.10.83.247 Good Morning everyone, I was wondering if any of you could help me with this piece. I received it from an older family friend who traveled extensively in her earlier years. She told me this was Chinese, old and valuable (perhaps to her only ) I have no knowledge of asian pottery and would appreciate any feedback you might provide. The vase is 6.5" tall, the fat bottom part is 11.5" around and the base is a hair over 2", the top opening is 2 1/4". The glaze is smooth with a few very fine ridges when you run your fingers over the finish. Thanks so much in advance. |

Posted By: PyroManiac Mon, May 19, 2008 Your images I way too small. At first glance it seems like a Chinese Jun type vase. Which in itself means very little since fakes abound of Jun wares as well as many studio artists also create such popular glazes as modern works of decorative art. |

Posted By: Tina Tue, May 20, 2008 Thanks for the reply and the feedback on pic size. Hopefully these will be better. I can't seem to get the size thing down, some forums want smaller pics due to time loading when using dial-up... Lets see if these work. |
