Subject:Question re vases
Posted By: Craig Welbourn Wed, Jul 02, 2008 IP: 99.242.100.118

Hi- We are new to this forum and are wondering whether the following is a legitimate question for this forum.

"We would be interested in your opinion about whether it would be worthwhile to have two vases appraised (pictures attached). This is a bit of a chicken and egg situation: of course, we would not have them appraised if the cost of the appraisal exceeded their value, but we don't know either their value or the cost of appraisal on which to base our decision."

The vases are Japanese and date to the first few decades of the 20th century. Such decoration I think is called moriage with all the dots. They were made in the millions and are still quite common today. The value is not too high.
