Subject:old asian paintings from estate sale
Posted By: kattk Sat, Jul 19, 2008 IP: 67.87.14.180

Hi! I bought 3 old paintings from an estate sale. They each have a piece of paper on the back with some kind of description that was written in the 1930s.

The description says the painting is signed by "Lan-hsun". I tried googling that name and found nothing. The description was written by "Mr. Han". Any comments or ideas? Thank you!

the artist's signature is above the two seals on the left page. "Lan-hsun" is the first name of the person who inscribed the passage on the right half of the leaf, with a surname that your translator ignored above it. Might be Cai Lanxun, my cursive reading is not so good.

Thank you for your help. Am I correct that the signature is in Chinese? Thanks again.
