Subject:17th & 18th Century Tibetan Furniture
Posted By: Christopher Steward Fri, Nov 07, 2008 IP: 218.212.211.229

Does anyone know of dealers or auctions in Europe and USA in this area. I have been a collector of 10+ years of monastery chests and boxes. I am seeking to both buy and possibly sell highest quality pieces. Thanks for any assistance or knowledge you maybe able to pass to me.
Chris

Hi Chris,

We have a few 18th and 19th century monastery trunks acquired in the Lhasa/Shigatse area in the early 1990's. They are of course a bit pricey but contact me if you have further interest.

Hello Jane,
Yes, would be certainly interested to chat. I have a number of contacts sourcing selected pieces directly on Tibet and China. Maybe you could mail photos of your premier pieces and indicative pricing. May I suggest we start with your best quality item and we take it from there. My e is chris_steward@mac.com. Best. Chris
