Subject:Help - Scroll translation!
Posted By: Matt Tue, Jan 20, 2009 IP: 74.192.210.138

Hello! I purchased these scrolls on my last trip to Shanghai and I could really use some help on the translation. A friend of mine came over and took a look, but she was only able to give me a vague idea of what they said. If anyone could give me a total translation I would really, really appreciate it. I can take additional photos or anything else needed if necessary. The first image is of scroll one, and the second two images are of the second scroll - I had to use two images because of the KB requirement. Thanks so much for all the help!

the first painting is an original, dated 2007 and signed with the painter's given name, Siyun. Its title is the first column of characters "xi shan fei liu", Steams and Mountains Soaring and Flowing.

the second painting is a (photographic?)reproduction of a painting by Ming painter Tang Yin that, judging by the seals, was in the collection of the Qing Qianlong emperor and the subsequent Jiaqing emperor. the long inscription is a comment by the artist, no painting title or date given.
