Posted By: Bill H Fri, Apr 10, 2009 Maggie, this style of decoration, using small "medallions" or roundels, is similar to a pattern on Chinese dishes made for export to Japan and elsewhere during the late 19th and early 20th century. Your brass teapot might have been made to appeal to those who fancied the porcelain wares in this pattern. Here are some images with examples of the dishes from my own collection. |
