Subject:How do I date this Japanese Vase? Thanks!!!!

This vase that I picked up for $14 has what looks like under glaze decoration as well as enamel decoration over the glaze. There are some gold highlights and the rim is gold. How do I begin to date something like this? Can you recommend a good resource for unlocking the mystery of Japanese ceramics for me. Thanks so much, Caterina
