Subject:Permission to Post Photo
Posted By: Bob Mon, May 11, 2009 IP: 75.138.67.73

Greetings! I saw on the "rules" that photos should not be posted without permission. I have two tea bowls (chawan/yunomi) with signatures. I want to know who made them, so can I post a picture? Obviously I can't get permission since the purpose of posting will be to learn who made them. Thanks!

Believe the caution referred to photos taken by others, or of others' property. Still, use of a photo from catalog could come under 'fair use' standard of US law.

Good luck,
Cal

Dear Bob

It means permission from the people who own the copyright of such pictures you are going to post here, not asking permission to post your pictures from forum moderators....pls read carefully.

Post any of your pictures you like, and not over 100 kb per picture.

Have fun
Anita

Hello Bob,

If you made or own the pictures there is no problem of course. If you found the pictures on internet; beware if they aren't copyright protected. If not; there is also no problem to post them.

regards,

Arjan
