Subject:Your opinion on 2 european " japanese" paintings
Posted By: Hagard Thu, May 14, 2009 IP: 217.117.45.144

Hi,
I would like to learn more over two paintings.
The first was made by the belgian painter Marguerite GEVAERT ( 1900 -1974 ). She traveled in her youth to China and Japan. I want to known if the crow and the heron are the illustration of a local legend or maybe a poetic story and if the inscription reads really something ?
The second is an aquatint/etching with a japanese geisha but as only 3 pics are allowed i just post the inscription.
THanks for your help.

I've found it's a Koryusai animal motif about the story of th crow and the snowy heron ( metaphore of the Yang Yin )
Somewhere somebody to read the "inscriptions" ?
Thanks
