Subject:Brass Frog

My father fought in WW-2 and he broght back a brass frog. It has some kind of stamp on the bottom. It makes inpressions or a kind of stamp. I took it to a Japanese store and he said it was in the old writing. He could read part of it saying something about a flying horse. It's about 2 inches tall and the frog is sitting on a square base thats 2x2in. The frog itself looks very pre-historic. Can someone tell me what it is and what it's worth? Thanks,David....
