Subject:Kangxi mark with hall mark???
Posted By: Tim Green Wed, Oct 14, 2009 IP: 76.108.108.213

Could someone offer up a translation on the mark of this blue and white vase? I've posted photos of the vase and mark on my Flickr account.

Reading from right to left, the first 4 marks are Kangxi dynasty marks. The last two marks are 'Hall of' marks. However, the 5th & 6th mark are a mystery to me.

Any help is appreciated.

Hi,
The two characters are the name of the "hall". They are read Rong Jin in Pinyin. "Hall" is often used for a shop or store, or in old times for business premises. So its meaning would be something like:
Made by Rong Jin Hall during the Kangxi reign of the Great Qing...
