Subject:Are these Japanese woodblock prints?

They do not have pixels. They seem to be on some type of fibrous paper. I can email larger photos.

Top one is a Japanese print...not sure if it is a re-print or an original, but given the damage it really doesn't make a difference.

Second one looks Chinese, not Japanese, but could be a woodblock print, too. Just doesn't seem the subject matter that collectors look for.

Hope this helps.

I concur with Tim. The first is a Japanese woodblock print likely by Kunisada but with so much missing it is hard to tell. The second looks like it might be Chinese.

Cheers,
Stan

yes, the latter one seems to be the Printmaking from China. In China, an old man with a crane means longevity. the painting represents people's hope of living longer.
