Subject:Asian Bird Print
Posted By: Melissa Tue, Dec 08, 2009 IP: 69.118.91.92 Hello....I am hoping to get some/ANY information on this print. It is quite old coming out of a very old frame. It is in great condition. At first I was thinking it was a hand painted lithograph or something but as I looked closer I do think it is a reproduction...although I am not sure! |

Posted By: Marc Kahn Wed, Dec 16, 2009 It is a Japanese woodblock print, designed by Ohara Koson, titled "Snipe in Rain", published by Daikokuya, probably pre-1930. The signature and seal on yours is different from the example given in the book "Crows, Cranes, and Camellias: The Natural World of Ohara Koson" where this print is cataloged as K24.10. |
