Posted By: DANIEL Wed, Dec 16, 2009 IP: 38.98.196.10

I HAVE THIS STATUE OF A WARRIOR ON A HORSE.
IT MEASURES 5 INCHES LONG, 2 INCHES WIDE AND 6 1/2 INCHES TALL.
IT WEIGHTS ABOUT 1 POUND.
THAT'S ALL THE INFORMATION I HAVE.
THANK YOU FOR YOUR TIME.

Very poor casting, suitable for inexpensive tourist goods. Where sold hard to say, both the depiction and your photos are not well done.

Doubt more than 10 years old.

Good luck,
Cal

Dear Daniel

It's a Prince Siddhartha on his horse riding away from the world to enter monkshood, then he became Buddha. He is carrying sword on his right hand for cutting his hair.

His horse name was Kantaka which was born on the same date as Prince Siddhartha, and so as to his servant Mr.Channa who accompanied Prince Siddhartha on the day Prince Siddhartha ran away to be a monk.

Made of brass, 20th century Thailand. Not an antique, there is no reason why this piece have to be buried with that under the ground aging patina, possibly for tourist.

Have fun
Anita
