This is an early 19th century wine cup. The handle is jade. This might possibly be by Zhu Jian, the inventor of pewter encased yixing teapots. He was also a famous 19th century scholar, artist and engraver in medias including pewter. Quite a valuable piece. For a work by him see http://www.asianart.com/articles/organic/2.html and http://www.asianart.com/articles/organic/index.html#2 .

Kind Regards,

Chris.
