Subject:please help with age.. chinese celadon piece

Good evening..

I am hoping to get assistance with age and function of this celadon piece.. I was thinking possible Ming or earlier dating from the style color and red/orange burnt base.. is this for altar use or candle? size is 2.75 in. high x
4 in. across
