Subject:Oriental Vase, Need more info
Posted By: Frank Pfeiffer Sun, Mar 28, 2010 IP: 71.174.15.240

The vase in question appears to be glazed porcelain and was purchased at auction not less than 60 years ago. It is approx. 14" tall and the opening at the top is about 5". It is white with hand-painted flowers and birds including a kingfisher. The bottom is glazed and unmarked. The rim appears to be symbolic in some way. Three photos are attached of the vase and rim.
Any information as to country of origin, period, value etc. would be sincerely appreciated.
Thank you for your help!
Frank

Probably Japanese, probably about 60 years old. Could have had sticker to identify country of origin. Type factory made in hundreds thousands for sale department stores.

No special value, nice size for dried vegetation or for flowers.

Good luck,
Cal
