Subject:Identify mark + scene on Meiji bronze censer
Posted By: Debbie Fri, Apr 09, 2010 IP: 216.223.236.227 Appreciate help identifying the mark and one scene on Meiji era bronze censer. The scene features a man at right, standing, holding a sword behind his back. On the left, the other is crouching, holding away a small bag at left. |

Posted By: Guy Thu, Apr 15, 2010 The mark reads "Shokaken chu kore" (casted by Shokaken). Shokaken was a well known firm specialized in bronze koro censers, early Meiji period. |
